One of the greatest things about traveling for

I have spent time in multiple airports, several unique cities and many train stations over the past 3 weeks and I wanted to show you the over-riding travel styles that I noticed over and over and OVER again both here in the US (Colorado Springs, Denver and New York) as well as in Switzerland (Montreux, Luzerne

I feel like you can purchase any of the things here with complete confidence that they will be considered “current” for several more years at least and many of them can definitely be purchased in a classic style making them a wardrobe staple. In all of our current travels, it has still been early spring.
It’s damp and chilly so you won’t find any florals or
One of the biggest surprises to me was graphic tees. While I know they are popular here in the US, I guess I didn’t expect to see SO MANY of them in Switzerland. In Zurich, Luzerne
What was on everyone’s feet? Black ankle booties, c
The overcoats were overwhelmingly either tailored, classic wool, classic trench coats or a long puffer coat. Usually with a smart, warm scarf wrapped around the neck and OVER longer hair, creating a chic, carefree look. Of course in NY it’s all black head to toe and I saw a lot more leather jackets.
For handbags I’ll tell you what I didn’t see- I didn’t see ONE belt bag. Not one. I could be wrong, but I’m thinking that short trend may be on the way out (and to be honest, I wouldn’t be at all sad about that. Do you guys like those?). I saw lots of cross-body bags and a lot of chain detailing everywhere. Another thing that I found surprising was that there were so many of the cute, add-on, bag details. From large poms to charms and tassels, that’s definitely something everyone seems to be loving.
Does this match the travel styles you see in your city in the late winter and early spring? I’d love to hear about it. If there was a job for people watching my financial future would be secure for sure, lol.
We are back in Colorado and it’s still pretty cold with warm sunny days intermixed. I am really ready for Spring this year, so I’m hoping to be showcasing sandals and dresses on the blog stat!
Are you shopping for any sale items for fall and winter now- or do you go strictly by season ?

Great trend tips. Who knew the graphic tee was so global?.. ha. I also love a great trench and black booties. I definitely wear my booties a lot more than taller boots.

Thank you Julie. I found the graphic tees so surprising! I wear my booties a lot more also. I am shopping sales for another pair of OTK ones though!

I love how you get a glimpse of fashion from other countries. I haven’t tried a belt bag yet, but I was considering it. It seems pretty darn functional, especially if you get a cute one.

Jodie- they really are functional and when paired with the right outfit, they are super cute and soooooo easy. I think my personal attached stigma is from the 90’s, lol! (And yet I still have a few, lol) Maybe it was the cold temps that made them less popular? It’s harder to wangle them with coats and such. Who knows- they might be all over the place again this month!
Thanks so much Jodie!

Love your post! Never thought of watching people that close. In Amsterdam and major cities in The Netherlands, the majority is wearing black and dark colors in this period of time too AND more and more other colors. Same here at my office. I guess we are more adventurous haha.
Luckily the belt bag trend isn’t much of a trend here either.
Keep up the good work dear and till next time
Oh, and I can’t wait to see a post about dresses haha! XXX
